Feeding South Florida's mission is to end hunger in South Florida by providing immediate access to nutritious food, leading hunger and poverty advocacy efforts and transforming lives through innovative programming and education. Prior to COVID-19, FSF served over 706,000 food insecure individuals, and now, they're serving nearly 1 million children, seniors, families and recently unemployed. In just six weeks, they've provided over 17 million pounds of food (over 15 million meals) to over 200,000 people per week. Operating has increased from $125K per week to nearly $500K. With increased warehouse space, additional fleet, hiring temporary staff and purchasing food, FSF needs as much financial support as possible. Although FSF won't have to operate in this restricted way forever, they do anticipate at least 2008 recession level needs as a result of increased unemployment. For every $1 donated, they can provide 7 meals. They've served South Florida for almost 40 years and will continue doing so. As FSF says, "We live here, and we serve here. We are Feeding South Florida."

Lotus House is a Miami-based charity making a real difference to women and children in desperate need and helping them towards building safe, secure lives and enabling them to reach their full potential. According to law enforcement, there has been a substantial increase in domestic violence and child abuse since COVID-19 began. They come to Lotus House desperate – suffering from deprivation, abuse, homelessness. They are broken people without the tools to break the cycle. Lotus House provides shelter and a sanctuary and the support they need to get their lives back on track. At first, this will often include holistic solutions to help with overcoming abuse and other issues. Ultimately, they are educated and shown the way to become self-sufficient. They are enabled to build safe, secure lives where they can find employment, regain their self-respect and become a part of society. Lotus House’s accountability and transparency ratings, as well as their success stories, are extremely high.
